SALVATION
Salvation is for everyone!
Belief in Jesus Christ leads to salvation:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 ESV)
Salvation comes by faith:
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God..” (Ephesians 2:8)
Salvation in Jesus gives you a right:
“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God….” (John 1:12)
Salvation in Jesus gives you access:
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6 ESV).
Salvation is in Jesus only:
“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men3 by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12 ESV)
You need salvation in Jesus:
“..for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God….” (Romans 3:23 ESV)
Your self righteousness is not salvation:
“Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins.” (Ecclesiastes 7:20 ESV)
Eternal life is a free gift:
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23 ESV)
Jesus is the righteousness of God:
“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5:21 ESV)
To receive salvation, God commands repentance:
“The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent…” (Acts 17:30 ESV)
Salvation is through Jesus:
Jesus was resurrected to prove that his payment for sin was enough and that He overcame sin and death. ( Read: 1 Corinthians 15:1–58)
Jesus paid the price for salvation:
“He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.” (1 John 2:2 ESV)
Praying a prayer of salvation is having a childlike faith. You are praying from a position of humility in response to God’s invitation to repent according to Acts 17:30. That means this is a heartfelt decision. You have freewill. Your attitude becomes like that of little children to receive salvation:
“Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.” (Matthew 19:13-15 ESV)
To receive salvation, you must come to Jesus with an attitude of a little child:
Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?” “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.” “Which ones?” he inquired. Jesus replied, ” ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’ “All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?” Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth. (Matthew 19:15-22 ESV)
When you become born again you have salvation and continue on the path of God’s redemption plan. You are born of the spirit and not only of flesh. That means eternity will be spent in God’s Kingdom not apart from him.
Salvation which is birth by the Spirit allows for entry into the kingdom of God:
Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (John 3:3-6 ESV)
With this understanding you can now make a life changing-decision to become born again. If you would like to give your life to Christ, please pray this prayer of salvation from your heart like a little child.
Prayer of salvation:
Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner and sincerely ask for your forgiveness. I am sorry for all my sins. Jesus, please come into my heart. I accept you as my Savior and Lord. I belong to you. Please take full residence in my life. Help me to walk in your truth and revelation. Holy Spirit help, teach and comfort me. Thank you Lord for saving me. Thank you, Holy Spirit for convicting and helping me come to this life changing-decision to accept Jesus into my heart. Thank you Father for sending your son to pay the price for my sins.
